- The official Star Wars RPG Web site has been full of useful information lately. They've been running an article series called "Behind the Sith" that discusses how to create compelling Sith villains, as well as previews and stats for the upcoming Knights of the Old Republic miniatures set. There's also the new podcast, where the game designers discuss GMing and game design, as well as answer questions. Shameless plug: By complete coincidence, my letter was the first one they answered!
- There have been precious few spoilers about what's in the upcoming Knights of the Old Republic roleplaying game supplement due August 18. It's going to be 224 pages — half as long again as Starships or Threats of the Galaxy. The new KOTOR miniatures preview hints at two new talents that look like Jedi Knight talents: Riposte, which is stated in the podcast (linked above) to function sort of like Redirect Shot for melee, and WatchCircle Initiate, which (by my best guess) works off of the Farseeing Force power. Also look for new prestige classes, as the designers state in the podcast that most of the new books will have 3 to 5 new prestige classes apiece; they say they'll be dramatically different enough from the current prestige classes, as, for example, rather than create a "Naval Officer" prestige class, they can just add a new talent tree to the existing Officer class.
- Future books announced include The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide (slated for whenever the video game releases), Scum and Villainy (an underworld-themed book due in the 4th quarter), The Clone Wars Campaign Guide (set for 1st quarter 2009) and The Legacy Era Campaign Guide (also set for 1st quarter 2009).
