The game began with the players on Ithor getting the ship fit with new weapons. While there, On-warr told Logger that he would soon meet Aya Lim, On-warr's first Jedi apprentice, during their upcoming trip into Hutt Space on Nar Shaddaa.
As soon as the Raraza arrived at Nal Hutta, they were immediately hailed by Gorrak the Hutt's cruiser and taken aboard. During a mud bath, Gorrak praised the party's bravery/stupidity in both helping a prisoner escape Riga the Hutt's palace on Nal Hutta, and in boarding a Sith battleship and freeing one of their high-profile prisoners during the Battle of Ithor. Noting that they'd returned to Nal Hutta, Gorrak deduced that they'd come to take on Riga again, and given their current track record, he decided that the PCs just might have a shot at taking down Riga. Gorrak offered to help them with funds and contacts, and also provided them a spacebarn in Nar Shaddaa's Duros Sector to use as a base of operations. After refurbishing some broken droids and cleaning up the hangar, it was Home Sweet Home. Rek quickly got to the local Luk Shipping office and started talking to Plono, the administrative officer, about expanding the business, though Plono was a bit worried about the "aggressive market" (i.e. having the Hutts around). Dhiel hit up a small bar called the Happy Hutt — literally a hole in the wall, as it had once been a vermin nest that got cleaned out and turned into a bar — and talked to a Rodian bounty hunter drinking away the death of his brother on Cerea.
In asking around, Rek and Kazbich learned that Riga owned a large casino in the Duros Sector called the Glitterstim. After some discomfort in giving up their weapons at the door to the Trandoshan guards and the assault droids (and ultimately, Logger decided not to go in), they hit the tables. Though Rek broke even, Gobmush doubled his stake. Kazbich learned that the casino boss was a Twi'lek named Ilar Kairn, who owned a home in the Corellian Sector. Dhiel went to the bar to get the strongest drink in the house. After the bartending droid insisted the strongest drink would require him to sign a waiver in front of a casino employee, Dhiel punched the droid, which provoked three Trandoshan guards to rough him up and throw him out. During the scuffle, Rek foolishly decided to try to swipe some chips from a pazaak table, only for a dealer droid to smack him with a stun gun and knock him unconscious. Everybody else exited post haste.
Rek returned to consciousness tied to a chair in a backroom being interrogated by the Trandoshan guards. Under duress (and a bad Endurance check versus their Persuasion to intimidate), he revealed that he was there to strike at Riga the Hutt, though he fortunately didn't reveal where he lived (the spacebarn) or who his companions were. They then roughed him up and tossed him into a back alley. This did not sit well with Rek.
The party soon found Rek and they took off for the Corellian Sector to find Ilar Kairn in hopes of... I don't know, really. They landed at his luxury tower under false pretenses, went into his office, and talked to him about the encounter at the casino earlier. Then Rek told Dhiel to shoot him, which killed him, until Rek (being the surgeon that he is) miraculously brought him back to life. They then rigged his home to explode and took off with him unconscious and his butler droid in the back.
They pulled over and interrogated him, but he wasn't actually involved in any of the crime (a front is only good as long as it stays clean) and he folded under pressure, giving up the name of the middle man between him and Riga - a Nautolan named Beryl Fisto. The party was divided over whether to kill Kairn or let him live, which ended with Gobmush, Rek and Dhiel driving off and leaving Logger and Kazbich to take care of Kairn. Rek soon learned where Beryl Fisto lived and after finding out that he was in the Slag Pit cantina, they began looting and torching the place, taking an incriminating datapad (holding names, addresses, comlink numbers, and appointments) and his couch before setting the luxury apartment to explode. Logger soon encountered Aya Lim, a Kaminoan woman, who warned that Rek was in terrible danger. They dropped off Kairn back at the ruins of his home, who decided to take his wife and leave Nar Shaddaa forever.
The party soon reunited at the Slag Pit, where through bribery of two Feeorin guards, they learned Fisto was in one of the back rooms with his Duros bodyguards. They quickly stormed the back room and killed all the guards, leaving Kazbich outside to warn "nothing to see here." Beryl was smart enough to see when he was outgunned and also recognized that by squealing, Riga would soon have his head. He volunteered all the information he could in exchange for passage to Glee Anselm so he could at least live out the rest of his days on his homeworld. He also gave up the name of someone who had enslaved many of Logger's people (name to be determined) and also what had happened to Kazbich's friend Marina (also to be determined).
Rek Luk is now determined to broadcast as much of Riga's data as he can on Nar Shaddaa's emergency broadcast system to out the Hutt and damage his reputation. (Also, with the assets he liquidated from Beryl Fisto, he made enough money to refit the Raraza to be the comfort equivalent of a luxury hotel.)
Random things:
- Gobmush is quickly distinguishing himself as the group's cook.
- Hell hath no fury like Rek Luk humiliated.
- Gobmush is also distinguishing himself by being as observant and wise as Logger, the resident Jedi, as evidenced by the fact that he was the only one to actually make money gambling.
